Feds: Private Jet Used To Carry Drugs

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) ― Federal agents have seized a private jet belonging to Broadcom co-founder Henry T. Nicholas III, claiming it was used to carry drugs.

According to court documents, the FBI took the plane in July at Orange County's John Wayne Airport and contend Nicholas used it to transport drugs to various locations across the globe for further distribution.

Nicholas has pleaded not guilty to charges in two separate indictments. One detailed the drug accusations and the other accused Nicholas of conspiracy, securities fraud and other violations relating to stock options backdating while he led the computer chip company.

Nicholas' attorneys have filed papers to get the jet back.

A judge is scheduled to hear the motion Monday.
