O.C. Man Charged In Boys & Girls Club Theft

SANTA ANA (AP) ― The former administrator of a Boys & Girls Club chapter in Orange County has pleaded not guilty to grand theft and other counts alleging he stole $116,000 from the organization.

Orange County district attorney's spokeswoman Farrah Emami says 60-year-old Clifford Lewis Polston was released on $100,000 bail after entering his plea Monday.

Polston was the chief professional officer of the club in Tustin for 30 years.

Prosecutors accuse him of using club funds to pay his wife salary for a job she never held.

Polston faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. He is due back in court Aug. 19 for a pretrial hearing.

A call to his lawyer, Greg Bartone, was not immediately returned.
