Boy, 17, Shot To Death While Riding His Bike

ARTESIA A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Wednesday morning while riding his bicycle in Artesia, authorities said.

The teen was shot while riding his bicycle north on Pioneer Boulevard near the 91 Freeway underpass around 12:10 a.m., Sgt. Grayson Kline of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Hecht said. His name was not immediately released.

Anyone with information on the attack was urged to call the sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.
