Off-Duty Soldier Dies Doing Motorcycle Stunt
BORON, Calif. (AP) ―
A 20-year-old soldier standing on the seat of his motorcycle, weaving around big-rigs, is dead after crashing the bike on a Mojave Desert highway.
The biker was traveling west on Highway 58 east of Boron at Kramer Junction when he crashed at about 7:50 p.m. Thursday.
The San Bernardino County coroner's office says the active duty member of the U.S. Army was standing on the seat of his Yamaha R1 motorcycle while passing trucks when he lost control.
His name is being withheld until relatives can be contacted.
