Bus Service Resumes After Bomb Threat Investigated

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) ― No explosives were found on an MTA bus in Glendale that was evacuated and searched by a bomb squad after a passenger told the driver the bus was "going to blow up," authorities said.

The driver of Metro bus line 92 stopped at Brand Boulevard and Broadway and as some passengers were getting off, one turned to the driver and said, "This bus is going to blow up," according to Rick Jager of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The driver then made everyone get off the bus and alerted authorities. Glendale police kept people away from the bus until a sheriff's bomb squad searched the vehicle, which was declared safe shortly before 1:30 p.m., sheriff's Sgt. Paul Patterson said.
