Body Parts Found In Los Feliz Dumpster
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
Police are investigating the death of a man whose body parts were found in a trash bin in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles on Friday.
An employee at the Pink Elephant liquor store in the 1600 block of Western Avenue, which is located near Russell Street, was throwing boxes in the trash on Friday night when he saw a suspicious suitcase and smelled a foul odor, KCAL 9 reported.
Police found body parts of a man in his late 40s in the suitcase. More body parts were discovered nearby.
The cause of death is currently unknown, said Los Angeles Police Officer Mike Lopez of the media relations section.
The man has been identified, but his identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, according to the coroner's office.
