Authorities Thursday were searching for the "Blue Note Bandit," who has robbed five banks in Orange County over the past six weeks, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Four of the five heists have taken place since Thanksgiving -- with the most recent occurring Wednesday in Aliso Viejo, according to Jim Amormino of the sheriff's department.
Other robberies took place in Costa Mesa, San Juan Capistrano, Tustin and Seal Beach, he said.
The suspect has used blue paper for demand notes in some of the robberies. Although no weapon has been seen, he claims to be carrying a gun, and people should consider him armed and dangerous, Amormino said.
The suspect was described as white, in his 30s and about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He has a tan complexion and medium to light brown hair.
Anyone with information on the suspect was asked to call the sheriff's department at (714) 647-7042.
