Police in Orange County say a 44-year-old blind man was beaten after he pounded on the door to a gas station bathroom in Anaheim.
Anaheim police Lt. K. Switzer said Friday that the unidentified victim was confronted Thursday morning after the occupant of the bathroom emerged.
The incident occured about 8:14 in the morning at an am/pm on Ball Road and Brookhurst Street, according to Switzer.
Switzer says the restroom occupant's cousin threw a can of beer into the victim's face and started beating him. Switzer says the 12-oz can of beer "really did some damage" to the blind man.
Switzer says 23-year-old Taufa Vaioleti of Anaheim was arrested later Thursday morning for investigation of aggravated assault.
Switzer says the victim told police he was legally blind. He reportedly has one glass eye and is blind in the other. Switzer declined to release the victim's name.
The victim was treated at the scene and released.
