1 Killed In Fiery Big Rig Crash On 60 Freeway
INDUSTRY, Calif.
One person was killed Friday morning when a big rig overturned and caught fire on a freeway in Industry, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 3:40 a.m. on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway just east of Fairway Drive, according to California Highway Patrol Officer David Porter.
There were "unconfirmed reports of another vehicle involved" in the crash, and authorities could not say whether the dead person was the truck driver, Porter said.
Two lanes and the Fairway Drive onramp were shut down while the crash was investigated.
One person was arrested at the scene, CHP Officer Anthony Martin said.
"But we're not sure where it came at -- as a result of the crash or (the CHP) located someone at the scene," Martin said.
The truck was carrying electronics, candy and other miscellaneous items.
