3 Suspects Arrested After Covina Bank Robbery
COVINA, Calif. (CBS) ―
Police arrested three men and a woman on suspicion of bank robbery in Covina Tuesday.
A silent alarm was triggered at the Vineyard Bank branch, 576 S. Grand Ave. at 9:29 a.m., Covina police Sgt. Dave Foster said.
Two men with their faces concealed walked into the bank and ordered everyone to the ground and got away with about $8,500 in cash, he said.
Officers arrived as a gold colored Oldsmobile with no license plates was leaving at a high rate of speed, Foster said.
The car was abandoned in a nearby neighborhood, with the suspects fleeing on foot.
The money was found inside the car. Police contained the area and two suspects were taken into custody after an extensive yard-to-yard search.
The third suspect was later found just outside the containment area, and later, a woman in a second vehicle was found and arrested during the search.
