Officials Hunt For Gunman Who Held Up Irvine Bank

Authorities Friday were searching for a gunman who held up a bank in Irvine.

The man, who was wearing a mask and a hood and holding a small black handgun, demanded money from a teller at Share Plus Federal Bank branch at 9:30 a.m., Lt. John Hare said.

The robber left the bank at 17901 Von Karman Ave. with an undisclosed amount of money, Hare said.

The suspect was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a dark-hooded sweatshirt and a reflective vest, Hare said.
