Kidnapped Woman Found Safe, Ex And Mom Arrested

AZUSA, Calif. Police say they found a kidnapped 20-year-old Azusa woman safe and have arrested her former boyfriend and his mother.

Adilene Luna was abducted from her home in the 800 block of South Lark Ellen by Jose Tovar at about 1:30 p.m., Azusa police Sgt. Bruce Badoni said.

Tovar, 20, was arrested at his Pomona home. His mother, Rebecca Tovar, 36, of West Covina, was taken into custody in Irwindale, Badoni said.

Before Luna was found safe, Badoni had said "her life may be in danger" because Tovar "has a violent past."

Azusa police detectives are continuing their investigation with the aid of several Southern California law enforcement agencies.
