Anthony Pellicano Faces Expanded Charges

Sleuth-To-The-Stars Pleaded Not Guilty To Wiretapping And Racketeering

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Celebrity private eye Anthony Pellicano is set to face expanded charges Monday.

The so-called sleuth-to-the-stars has already pleaded not guilty in the federal wiretapping and racketeering case against him.

Now he and his co-defendants are scheduled back in court to hear newly expanded allegations that he wiretapped the ex-wife of Kirk Kerkorian on behalf of the billionaire's attorney.

The new version of the federal indictment alleges that on Pellicano told Kerkorian's lawyer, Terry Christensen, that he "could hear the sigh of relief" in the ex-wife's voice in an intercepted phone call.

The indictment also expands on the prosecution's contention that Pellicano listened to Bonder Kerkorian talking to people involved in the legal case, including her lawyer and a mediator.

An attorney for Pellicano says the changes to the indictment "add nothing new to this case."
