A celebrity fashion designer has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges in Los Angeles.
Anand Jon Alexander is accused of sexually assaulting 20 teenage girls and young women he allegedly lured with promises of modeling jobs.
The women named in 59 criminal counts in a grand jury indictment are from California as well as eight other states and two other countries. Alexander is alleged to have recruited them through the Internet.
His lawyer, Anthony Brooklier, reiterated outside court today that he believes the women were involved in collusion against the designer.
Alexander is being held without bail. He faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted on all charges.
