Arrest Made In Murder Of Anaheim Woman, 84

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) ― Police say a Los Angeles man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the killing of an 84-year-old woman found dead in her Anaheim home.

Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said 25-year-old Anthony Wade was arrested Sunday night.

Wade was first detained in Highland early Sunday by officers answering a disturbance call at a supermarket.

Martinez said Wade was found with a car registered to the woman. Officers went to the woman's house, found the back door open and found her dead inside.

Martinez said the condition of the woman and the house led investigators to believe she was murdered.

Wade was being held at the Anaheim Detention Facility. Martinez said bail was expected to be set at $1 million.

Police did not know if Wade had hired an attorney.
