LOS ANGELES
American Airlines canceled six flights from Southern California airports Thursday, including four that were supposed to leave from LAX and one from Burbank.
Nationwide, a total of 132 American Airlines MD-80 jetliners remained grounded for inspection of wiring harnesses, American Airlines spokesman Charley Wilson said.
The following flights were canceled at LAX:
- Flight 2434 to Dallas-Fort Worth at 9 a.m.
- Flight 1372 to Chicago O'Hare at 10:25 a.m.
- Flight 2300 to Dallas-Fort Worth at 11:05 a.m.
- Flight 768 to St. Louis at 2:30 p.m.
An American Airlines flight was canceled from San Diego, and another from Burbank's Bob Hope Airport, Wilson said.
Delta Airlines, meanwhile, canceled a total of 275 flights nationwide to inspect MD-88 planes, Delta spokesman Anthony Black said. None of the Delta canceled flights originated or ended in Southern California, he said.
