A Los Angeles Unified School District administrator who allegedly covered up an affair involving a teacher and a 15-year-old student pleaded not guilty Friday to obstruction of justice and being an accessory after the fact.
Alan P. Hubbard, 49, a dean at Foshay Learning Center, allegedly knew about a romantic relationship between fellow administrator Steve Thomas Rooney and a female student Rooney met while he was working at the school, but did not report it.
Hubbard also is accused of dissuading the girl from reporting the relationship to authorities and of concealing a scrapbook the girl had made containing evidence of the affair, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Rooney is awaiting trial on 13 felony sex-related counts involving the former Foshay student and two girls at Markham Middle School, where Rooney became an assistant principal after leaving Foshay.
Hubbard was ordered to return to court July 2, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
