A truck accident sparked a brush fire on the northbound 14 Freeway Tuesday, prompting the closure of all but one lane of traffic.
The fire was reported at 11:53 a.m. on the northbound 14 Freeway just south of Escondido Canyon Road, Los Angeles County fire spokesman Armando Garduno said.
The fire started on one of the vehicle's rear tires and sent thick plumes of black smoke into the air. The flames engulfed the truck and spread briefly to nearby brush, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Fire crews prevented the fire from spreading, but only one lane was open as crews worked to clear the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries.
