A man convicted of the murder of two Carson gas station workers has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Twenty-five-year-old Adam Loza was found guilty in May.
Two accomplices, 17-year-old Eric Sanford and 24-year-old Julio Perez also were convicted of murder and got 50 years to life.
The three were robbing a gas station in December 2006 when they fatally shot Esther Arteaga and Eduardo Roco, a 74-year-old who was about to retire.
Loza's jury found him guilty of the special circumstances of killing during an attempted robbery, which a different jury did not find for the two accomplices.
That led to the mandatory sentence of life without parole.
Loza's attorney Arthur Goldberg says the sentence is "cruel and unusual" given the lighter sentence of the other two.
