AFTRA Opens Contract Talks With Producers
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists has opened negotiations with Hollywood producers on a new contract.
Talks between the union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers began Wednesday, a day after the alliance temporarily broke off separate bargaining with the larger Screen Actors Guild.
Producers called SAG's demands on DVD sales and online content "unreasonable."
SAG responded in a statement by saying the producers' decision to end talks after 18 days was unfortunate.
AFTRA cover actors on prime-time TV shows.
