911 Calls Describe Bloody Metrolink Crash
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
Screams and reports of a bloody, desperate scene are heard on 911 calls that followed the deadly train collision last week in Los Angeles.
Fire officials released several audio clips of the calls on Wednesday night. Some callers were frantic as they described the aftermath of the collision between a Metrolink commuter train and a freight on Friday. Twenty-five people were killed and more than 130 were injured.
In the background of some calls, screaming could be heard as a fire raged around the wreckage and victims pleaded for help.
Fire officials say dispatchers received hundreds of calls about the train wreck in the three to four hours after the collision.
