Driver Shot On Freeway In Long Beach
The Victim Was Shot Twice While Driving
LONG BEACH, Calif.
A man shot while driving on the Long Beach (710) Freeway remained hospitalized Sunday with wounds to his arms and legs.
The shooting in northbound lanes near Del Amo Boulevard occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday.
According to Long Beach police spokesperson Jackie Bezart, the motorist suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and a superficial wound to the leg.
Bezart said police have yet to confirm that the shooting attack was road rage or gang-related. The suspect's vehicle was described only as a dark-colored sedan.
Some 40 miles away and 11 hours later, a man was murdered on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks, but Bezart said police "don't have any information that would tie those two (shootings) together."
