Police say a man was fatally injured after being ejected from a SUV during a rollover crash early Saturday morning on the 6th Street Bridge.
Two other passengers in that SUV also suffered injuries.
Police said the incident only involved the Chevy Tahoe.
The Tahoe was traveling eastbound on the bridge when the driver apparently lost control and crashed into the walkway and railing of the bridge, a sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department's Central Traffic Division reported.
The deceased -- Juan Antonio Moreno, 18 -- landed somewhere on Anderson Street -- about 250 feet from the crash -- and died at the scene, an officer from the LAPD's Central Traffic Division added.
The Tahoe flipped over and came to rest on its roof, injuring two others
inside, the sergeant said. A front-seat passenger suffered only minor injuries. A back-seat passenger was cut on the head. Both were taken to hospitals for treatment.
Police have determined that Moreno was driving the Tahoe.
It is also not known whether the victims were wearing seatbelts or whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
The bridge was shut down in both directions following the accident, the
officer said.
