2 Accidents Close All But 1 Lane Of 210 Freeway

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) ― A tractor-trailer crash spilled fuel and oil into lanes and forced the closure of the eastbound side of the 210 Freeway for hours, one of several major accidents on a rainy morning in Southern California.

The California Highway Patrol says the Fed Ex big rig tipped over in a multi-vehicle crash shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday on the eastbound side at Sierra Madre Boulevard. The CHP says there were injuries reported, but had no further details. A Caltrans crew was cleaning up the mess, and three lanes remained closed more than three hours after the crash.

Authorities say at least two more cars crashed minutes later in the same spot on the westbound side, briefly closing four lanes.

And just before 5 a.m., another overturned tractor-trailer blocked a connector road from the westbound 210 Freeway to the 134 Freeway in
Pasadena just a few miles west of the previous two crashes.
