Pedestrian Killed In University Park Hit-And-Run

LOS ANGELES A man was killed Friday morning in what appeared to be a hit-and-run accident on a transition road off the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the North University Park area, authorities said.

CHP officers and Los Angeles city firefighters received a call at 5:20 a.m. and discovered a man on a collector road east of Hoover Street, Villalobos said. The man died at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

He had apparently been hit by a vehicle, which did not stop, Villalobos said. The road was closed for three hours while authorities investigated.
