Sex Offender Accused Of Touching Job Seekers
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
A 38-year-old registered sex offender has been arrested on suspicion of touching women while interviewing them for jobs.
Oscar A. Corea of Los Angeles, reportedly checked in to the Hacienda Hotel, 525 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Thursday and was seen with several women at the hotel, according to El Segundo police.
Corea was wanted by the El Segundo and Los Angeles police departments in January 2007 for posing as a business owner or corporate executive looking to hire female assistants, police said.
After promising women well-paying jobs, Corea allegedly arranged to have women meet him at various locations, including the Hacienda Hotel, for job interviews. Corea would sexually assault the women when they were alone, police said.
Four women found at the hotel Thursday said they were there to be interviewed by a man called Ralph, an AT&T executive, and some of the women told police they had been touched inappropriately.
Corea was arrested Jan. 31 in Richmond, CA, and was brought back to Southern California, where he pled no contest to felony assault with intent to commit rape. After serving about 10 months in jail, Corea was released on Dec. 2.
Corea, who had keys to a black 2004 Toyota Matrix, which police believe he used to search for women to approach, was being held without bail.
Anyone who may have been a victim or who has information regarding Oscar Corea can contact the El Segundo Police Detective Vince Martinez at (310) 524-2263.
