Lakers Free Agent Options

It will take some sort of Lamar Odom trade for the Lakers to land one of the big name free agents out there. (It would need to be a sign and trade)

Here we list some options and the chances the player has of landing with the Lakers.

The Lakers have to wait and see what happens with Sasha Vujacic and Ronny Turiaf. If both elect to stay with the Lakers, nothing much will happen in terms of roster moves from last season.

However, if a team like Philadelphia offers Vujacic $7 million per season, then he is as good as gone.

Ron Artest- Yeah he has been on John Ireland's radio show and said he isn't taking the MLE. Artest has been changing his position a bit and might consider taking the Lakers' MLE. If he does that means Sasha Vujacic and most likely Ronny Turiaf will be gone.

Of course this all may be moot if Artest doesn't opt out of his current deal with Sacramento.

Lakers Chance: 15%

Gilbert Arenas- He is opting out of his $12.8 million contract with Washington and is said to be demanding a 6yr -$100 million deal.

Very few teams outside of the Wizards could afford that deal.

The Lakers would have to do some serious juggling to even attempt a sign and trade with Washington.

Lakers Chances: Less Than 1%

James Posey- Sharp shooter opting out with Boston and his $3.2 deal.

Lakers Chances: 2%

Eddie House- Unrestricted free agent seems destined to face the Lakers in  the playoffs wherever he goes. Not a good fit for the Lakers.

Devean George- Really? But would you be surprised if he came back?

Kwame Brown- Tell me when Kendrick Perkins and Leon Powe were dominating down-low in the NBA Finals you didn't miss Kwame just a little bit on defense?

Mo Evans- Could he have held down Paul Pierce?
