Man Craves Revenge In Coney Island Contest

NEW YORK (AP) ―

Champion hot dog-eater Takeru Kobayashi is hungry for revenge. He will try to put the bite on the competition in the annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest  Friday on Coney Island.

Kobayashi lost by three dogs last year, after a six-year winning streak. Joey Chestnut, the reigning champ, will also be ready to chomp. He downed 66 dogs and buns last year in just 12 minutes.

Organizers of the New York frank fest say the time limit will be shortened to ten minutes, in keeping with the original competition back in 1916. This year's field of 21 hopeful wiener winners has a pizza cook from New York and a 110-pound mother of two from Maryland.
