If you're looking for "rockets' red glare" and "bombs bursting in air" this July Fourth, don't come to Burbank.
The city has canceled its famed Fourth of July fireworks show because of record low rainfall and tinder-dry bush in the surrounding hills.
City officials say the extreme drought conditions make it too dangerous to stage a fireworks show from the slopes of the Verdugo Mountains.
Fire Chief Tracy Pansini called the decision "big disappointment." He says he loves fireworks, but that public safety has to come first.
Fire officials in Los Angeles say they'll cancel some of the city's own fireworks shows if drought conditions worsen.
