'Cleaning For A Reason' Helps Cancer Patients

Nonprofit Group Offers Free Cleaning Services To Women Battling Cancer

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― When someone is battling cancer it's not easy… treatment alone can be so exhausting and day-to-day activities can seem impossible.

That's where Cleaning for a Reason comes in, offering cleaning services for free to women fighting cancer.

Debbie Allison is on her third battle with breast cancer. With five kids and working part-time, cleaning is not in the cards.

Allison is getting help from Cleaning for a Reason, a national non-profit foundation, that provides cleaning services for women battling cancer.

Jennie Lim, who owns Maid's Home Services, signed on right away when she heard about the charity. She is donating the skills and services of her professional crew. She gets no compensation, but pays her staff their regular wages.

Once a month for four months, Lim's crew comes to clean... it is miracle for Debbie Allison.

The foundation, Cleaning for a Reason, was formed three years ago and everyday more cleaning companies sign on to help… they know when it comes to recovery, it's sometimes the little things that makes the biggest difference in a patient's life.
