THE PULSE: A Natural Way To Lower Cholesterol?

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― If you can't get your hands on drugs to lower your cholesterol, pinto beans and chick peas could do the trick.

A study out of Tulane University found that a diet rich in legumes can really lower your cholesterol level.

Patients with high cholesterol went on a three-week bean diet.

Their overall level dropped an average of 14 points. The level of bad cholesterol, or l-d-l tumbled an average of 11 points.
