Gas Prices Continue Steady Decline

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County continued its decline, according to figures released today by the Oil Price Information Service.

The average of $4.564 is 1.2 cents lower than Wednesday and has fallen 6.2 cents since hitting a record high of $4.626 June 21. However, the average is still 9.7 cents higher than last month and $1.474 higher than at this time last year.

The average fell four-tenths of a cent from Tuesday to Wednesday, three-tenths of a cent Sunday to Monday and six-tenths of a cent Saturday to Sunday.

The price was unchanged from Monday to Tuesday.

The Orange County average was $4.524, 1.1 cents lower than Tuesday and 7.4 cents lower than the record high of $4.598 set June 19. The average is 8.2 cents higher than last month and $1.485 higher than at this time last year.

The average fell nine-tenths of a cent from Tuesday to Wednesday, eight-tenths of a cent from Monday to Tuesday and one-tenth of a cent Sunday to Monday after rising seven-tenths of a cent from Saturday to Sunday.
