Sheep Fire Declared 85 Percent Contained

WRIGHTWOOD (CBS) ― The Sheep Fire was declared as 85 percent contained Wednesday evening with full containment expected Saturday.

The number of firefighters fighting the blaze was reduced to 1,446 today, doing mostly mop up work.

Nearly 1,900 firefighters fought the blaze Tuesday.

The fire destroyed five homes.

The fire has burned 7,128 acres since breaking out Saturday not far west of Interstate 15 at the southern end of the Cajon Pass.
