Firefighters Contain Blaze In Agoura Hills

CALABASAS, Calif. (AP) ― Firefighters have contained a brush fire that burned dangerously close to homes near Calabasas and Agoura Hills.

Fire officials say the blaze started shortly after noon and burned at least 80 acres next to Malibu Creek State Park near a subdivision.

L.A. County Fire Inspector Ron Haralson says the flames came within 50 feet of five homes before it was contained by about 250 firefighters and six water-dropping helicopters.

No injuries are reported and no homes were burned.

The Sheriff's Department says it has located the origin of the fire and will investigate the cause.
