15-Acre Grapevine Fire Fully Contained

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (CBS) ― A fast-moving brush fire sparked by a burning Jeep has burned 15 acres, but was fully contained by Saturday night.

U.S. Forest Service and Los Angeles County fire personnel used air tankers, choppers and 120 firefighters to battle the blaze along the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway.

The fire was fully contained by 8:30 p.m.

The area has light grass and light chaparral, but no big timber, U.S. Forest Service spokesman Stanton Florea said.

The California Highway Patrol closed one of four northbound lanes of the freeway as firefighters worked on its eastern side.
