Crews Battle Brush Fire In Angeles National Forest

LITTLE TUJUNGA CANYON, Calif. (AP) ― Firefighters are battling a wildfire that has burned about 130 acres in the Angeles National Forest northwest of Los Angeles.

Forest spokeswoman Dee Dechert says the fire was burning Sunday afternoon in the Little Tujunga Canyon area. She says it is 60 percent contained, with full containment expected Sunday night.

Dechert said there have been no injuries or evacuations.

She said light winds in the area are pushing the fire away from any structures.

Six air tankers, six helicopters and approximately 300 firefighters had brought the blaze down to 60 percent containment as of 4:30 p.m., said Sherry Rollman of the Angeles National Forest.

The fire started around 1:45 p.m. near 13000 Little Tujunga Canyon Road, near the site of October's Marek fire. The Marek fire burned more than 4,800 acres.
