A one-acre brush fire in Tujunga was caused by a transient who was cooking, authorities said Thursday.
Firefighters on the ground and in the air quickly doused the small brush fire Wednesday in a gully behind some homes in Tujunga, near the site of the Station Fire.
About 100 firefighters knocked down the fire in about an hour, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
No one was injured and no structures were threatened by the blaze, Humphrey said.
Investigators determined that "a cooking fire got out of control" and the fire was an accident resulting from carelessness, according to Humphrey.
