A brush fire that broken out in Ventura County, scorching approximately 56 acres, was fully contained Sunday night.
The blaze was reported shortly at 11:23 a.m. Sunday in Thousand Oaks south of U.S. Highway 101.
Fire Capt. Ron Oatman said it was burning in "open space."
More than 300 firefighters battled the fire, along with a fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, the
Ventura County Fire Department's Web site stated.
Although evacuations had not been ordered, residents in the Rimrock Lane, Colt Lane, Skyline and Tamarack area were asked to stay aware and informed, Ventura County fire spokesman Bill Nash said.
Several streets, including Tamarack, Skyline, Rimrock, Brook Glen and Hart Glen Roads, had been closed, according to the Web site.
No homes were in imminent danger.
