Brush Fire Scorches 3 Acres In Montebello

MONTEBELLO

A fire scorched about four acres of brush south of the Pomona (60) Freeway in the Montebello area Friday, but no one was hurt and no structures were damaged.

Firefighters were sent to the area of San Gabriel Boulevard, near the Montebello Town Center Mall, about 11:35 a.m., and had the flames extinguished about 1:25 p.m., said Inspector Ron Haralson of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Traffic on the freeway was not affected, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
