Fire Along Interstate 5 In Castaic Fully Contained
CASTAIC, Calif.
A fire that broke out Saturday near Lake Castaic grew to 20 acres before it was fully contained, a county fire official said.
The "Paint Fire" was reported at 3:41 p.m. in brush along Interstate 5, four miles south of Templin Highway, Captain Frank Reynoso of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
About 100 firefighters and four helicopters battled the blaze, Reynoso said.
Two northbound and two southbound lanes of the freeway were closed during the firefight, Bryan Webb of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
The fire was completely contained just before 6 p.m., he said.
No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
