Brush Fire Scorches 2 Acres In Pasadena
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) ―
A brush fire has broken out near the Hastings Ranch area in Pasadena.
Pasadena Fire Department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian says the fire was reported around 3:20 p.m. Friday. Derderian says about two acres have burned so far.
She says there are about 200 homes in the area, but none is immediately threatened,
About 100 firefighters from Pasadena, Los Angeles County and the U.S. Forest Service are battling the blaze from the air and from the ground.
Derderian says weather conditions are favorable with light winds and high humidity.
She says the cause of the fire is not known, but investigators are looking into reports that a couple of people were seen running from the scene.
