Brush Fire Sparked In Hills Of East Corona

CORONA, Calif. Firefighters quickly responded to reports of a brush fire in hills above the Home Gardens area of east Corona.

Corona and CalFire-Riverside County firefighters jumped into action at multiple reports of fire, CalFire Riverside County Capt. Casey Hartman said.

Smoke from the fire was visible to motorists on the busy Riverside (91) Freeway and reports began pouring in to emergency operators at 12:40 p.m. By 1:20 p.m., dispatchers had received more than 20 reports of the fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

No structures were reported threatened. The Corona Fire Department is the lead agency overseeing the firefight.
