Firefighters Contain Camp Pendleton Wildfire

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (AP) ― A nearly 1,000-acre wildfire on a Camp Pendleton explosives range has been contained without causing any injuries or damage to buildings on the Southern California base.

Cpl. Priscilla Vitale said the blaze was fully surrounded Thursday, about 16 hours after it began.

The fire erupted on a weapons training ground Wednesday afternoon.
