'Survivor's' Aras Hits The Heights With His Hats
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (CBS) ―
Aras made out-witting, out-lasting and out-playing his competitors on "Survivor" look almost easy.
Then again, Aras is used to a challenge.
While in college, he decided to do a business thesis on a little company his dad started -- selling Russian hats.
Russian hats? In California? Where it is sunny 340 days a year? What possessed him? "I knew what my dad started could be explanded," the 24-year-old yoga instructor explains. "We could sell those hats nation wide by using the Internet. And we could make them even more attractive to people by putting NFL pins...or college pins on them."
What started as a college paper has turned into a huge media company...complete with web site (www.tundragear.com) and, in addition to his busy yoga teaching and practices and work outs, the handsome Aras finds time to still sign on as TundraGear's director of operations.
We sat down with the smooth operator to find out why his hats are such a hit and the demands of juggling a web company.
