Leachman, best known for her role as Phyllis Lindstrom on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and its spinoff "Phyllis," will be the series' oldest contestant ever while 18-year-old Cody Linley, a cast member on the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," will be its youngest.

Also named as a contestant on Monday morning's broadcast of "Good Morning America" were singer Lance Bass; two-time Olympic gold medal-winning beach volleyball player Misty May-Treanor; Maurice Greene, the men's 100 meter winner at the 2000 Summer Olympics; television personality Brooke Burke; celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito; Kim Kardashian, the star of the E! Entertainment unscripted series, "Keeping up with the Kardashians"; actor Ted McGinley; comedian Jeffrey Ross and former NFL player Warren Sapp.

The "Dancing with the Stars" season premiere is set for Sept. 22, with all 13 couples competing during the two-hour episode.

One couple will be eliminated on Sept. 23 before the remaining 12 couples dance again.

The elimination of a second couple will be announced on the Sept. 24 episode, which will also include performances by the Jonas Brothers and Jesse McCartney.

"Dancing with the Stars" is television's second most-watched series, behind Fox Broadcasting's "American Idol."
