If there's one good thing to come out of the writers' strike this year, it's that CBS decided to start the Big Brother season early. February early! The new show will air starting February 12th, and despite it taking place in predominantly winter months, we're quite sure it will be just as HOT as past summer seasons!
Here at CBS 2/KCAL 9, we're particularly obsessed with Big Brother -- and not just because the BB house is in walking distance of our studios. Fighting hard against the temptation to mosey on over there and visit the house regularly, we've come up with some less illegal, alternative ways of getting the BB scoop!
First, we've invited Season 5 Big Brother star Diane Henry (who was also a BB All-Star) to join our team. She lives in LA now and keeps up with all the drama in the lives of past BB contestants. Who's hooking up with whom, who is still fighting, who is married, who is still entertaining dreams of post-reality-show stardom? She's here to share all of that information with us, and also give us her take on this new season of Big Brother!
And speaking of all those new, exciting houseguests, we've got EXCLUSIVE interviews with them conducted by our entertainment reporter Christina McLarty. So be sure to check those out!
Finally, to give you a little taste of what's to come, it's been revealed that the (first?) twist of this season is SOULMATES. That's right. Each houseguest was quizzed on who their perfect match would be, and now, apparently, there is a potential soulmate in the house for each one of them. Not only that, they may have to compete – and therefore, possibly be evicted – as soulmates as well!
Historically, the Big Brother house has been a breeding ground for soulmates to find one another (Boogie and Dr. Will?), so we can only assume that this twist – and any more to follow – will make for some steamy television!
