'Survivor's' Aras Dishes About Life After Winning

Aras Baskauskas shares what he's been doing since winning the million-dollar prize from 'Survivor' on CBS.

He out-lasted, out-witted and out-played all his fellow competition on "Survivor: Panama Exile Island" and in the process walked away with a million bucks. Big money often changes people, but to hear Aras Baskauskas tell it, it's only made this 24-year-old (he's 25 Sept. 26, 2006) more humble.
Despite the fact that fellow "Survivor" Terry often called Aras a slacker and a deadbeat and made fun of him for living at home (he recently moved out) and sponging off his father, Aras has always been something of a high achiever.
Aras, a California native, completed his undergraduate program in three years and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California, Irvine. He played on a basketball scholarship as well, before turning pro and playing briefly in Lithuania. In 2003, he was named one of UC Irvine's "Most Eligible Bachelors" in the student newspaper. Now he has a million bucks, but he's still single.
The Web staff at CBS2.com, of Los Angeles' KCBS-TV, recently sat down with the "Survivor" winner (abundantly more charming than TV ever portrayed him to be) to find out how winning has changed him, what he did with the money, getting injured on the show, about his love for yoga and a host of other topics. We also had to ask why he has trouble maintaining a social life; after all, he is young, handsome and rich. Aras, maybe the fact that you drive a 1987 Corolla without air conditioning -- in California no less -- might have something to do with it!
