The Image Awards honor those who promote diversity in the arts.
The striking Hollywood writers guild says it will let its members work on next month's NAACP Image Awards. In an announcement Tuesday, the Writers Guild of America also said it would not picket the Feb. 14 awards at the Shrine Auditorium.
The Image Awards honor those who promote diversity in the arts. Awards in 44 categories, including movies, TV and literature, will be presented in the ceremony broadcast live on Fox.
Guild leader Patric Verrone says the union approved the work waiver because of the role the NAACP has played in past labor disputes.
The civil rights group says it supports the writers in their push for a new contract.
