The two major actors unions may once again join forces in negotiating with Hollywood producers.
The Screen Actors Guild says it is offering to let the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists take part in its upcoming contract talks.
The guild's national board voted late Sunday to let AFTRA join negotiations with producers on a new feature-primetime deal.
Although SAG's talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers are set to begin Tuesday, the guild has given AFTRA until Wednesday to respond. An AFTRA spokeswoman said the union's response could come as early as Monday.
Meanwhile, AFTRA's own talks with producers are scheduled to start April 28.
The offer comes two weeks after a split between the two unions, which had negotiated together for decades.
