Brit's Parents Go To Court For Conservator Hearing

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Britney Spears' parents went to court Friday for a conservatorship hearing -- one day after the pop star was taken to a psychiatric hospital.

Lynne Spears and James Spears, his eyes very red, entered a Los Angeles Superior Court room without commenting to reporters.

Court spokesman Allan Parachini said "there is a conservatorship filing" and a hearing is scheduled. He gave no details, including who made the filing.

The parents arrived late Friday morning and sat in the back of Commissioner Reva Goetz's courtroom while attorneys showed a thick stack of paperwork to the clerk and had a whispered discussion.

Goetz handles probate matters.
